KMA CAMPUS NAMED “BUILDING OF THE YEAR” Celebrating yet another prestigious architectural accolade, KMA’s Corporate Headquarters and state-of-the-art Kia Design Center America have been presented with "The Outstanding Building of the Year" (TOBY) award for corporate facility from the Orange County chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). The TOBY award is the most prestigious and most comprehensive program of its kind in commercial real estate. It is the only national competition that awards excellence in building management. BOMA evaluates buildings based on its amenities package, tenant relations program, community involvement, emergency evacuation procedures and overall exceptional services. The competition consists of three levels starting with the BOMA local association level, with winning entries advancing to the regional level and, finally, regional winners advancing to the international level. The International TOBY Awards will be presented at the BOMA International Conference in Long Beach, Calif., June 27-29, 2010.
KMA PLAYS HOST IN DETROIT For the third consecutive year KMA will host Detroit-based automotive journalists for a year-end media event at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) on Dec. 9. The event, which has become an annual celebration of Kia Motors’ success throughout the year, is much appreciated by the Midwestern journalists who have seen a decrease in celebration over the past few years from local automotive companies. The event is sure to be filled with reflection on the exciting events Kia Motors experienced in 2009 such as the launches of the Soul, Forte sedan, Forte Koup and all-new Sorento Start of Production at Kia’s first-ever U.S. manufacturing plant, KMMG, and the admirable sales increases in a year when most companies were struggling. For KMA, there is definitely reason to celebrate this year. 2011
SORENTO DEBUTS IN TIMES SQUARE A 60x40 ft. billboard of the 2011 Kia Sorento debuted this week at One Times Square at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in New York City. The advertisement is one of the first elements of the largest new product rollout in KMA’s history and will introduce the first U.S. built Kia vehicle to more than 500,000 people every day.
